We have a long established reputation in carrying out aircraft inspection services which we can deliver internationally at very short notive. We regularly undertake aircraft inspections in countries such as China, Brazil, Australia, USA, Afghanistan and Turkey, to name but a few. Our offices situated in the UK, the Irish Republic, Brussels and France give us scope to travel easily to all European countries. We are often called upon to support the NDT departments of other MRO’s both in this country and abroad.

Our aircraft inspections are carried out under the following national approvals:

  • EASA Part 145 (European Aviation Safety Agency) – Approval Number UK.145.00416
  • FAA Part 145 (Federal Aviation Administration) – Approval Numbers:
  • Q16Y388N (Luton) – T99Y399N (Reigate)
  • TCCA (Transport Canada Civil Aviation) – Approval Number 809-04
  • IAE V2500 AeroEngine as per Service Bulletin SB72-0615 (HP Compressor Stage 3-8 Drum)

We are approved to carry out aircraft inspections under the above approvals on all aircraft and engine types and on materials, components and structures using the following methods of inspection:

Eddy Current Testing

  • High Frequency Testing
  • Low Frequency Testing
  • Rotary Inspections
  • Conductivity Testing
  • Non-Conductive Coating Thickness Measurement

Ultrasonic Testing

  • Pulse Echo – Shear and Compressional Wave Inspections
  • Through Transmission Inspections
  • Thickness Measurements
  • Phased Array Inspections

Radiography Testing

  • X-ray inspections of aircraft Structures and Components
  • X-ray inspections to identify water ingress
  • X-ray inspections to identify areas of Mercury spillage
  • Isotope (Gamma ray) inspections of aircraft engines

Magnetic Testing

  • Portable testing of aircraft components, materials and structures using approved electromagnetic or permanent magnetic systems
  • In-house Bench testing of aircraft component and materials

Fluorescent Penetrant Testing

  • Portable testing of aircraft components, materials and structures using approved Fluorescent systems
  • In-house testing of aircraft components and materials using approved Line systems

Thermographic Testing

  • Thermographic imaging of aircraft structures and control surfaces to identify areas of water ingress
  • Thermographic imaging of aircraft structures and control surfaces to identify areas of damage to composite materials

Bond Testing
Bond Testing is carried out to examine for delaminations in composite materials; damage or disbonding of honeycomb structures; separation of metal to metal bonded structures. The following three techniques are used to inspect aircraft components, materials and structures:

  • Mechanical Impedance
  • Resonant Frequency
  • Pitch-catch
