Materials Testing

CTT’s laboratories in Willenhall, Hartlepool and Witney offer a full range of mechanical testing of weldments, forged, wrought and cast products, including extensive machining facilities at each site.

In addition to this, resident qualified metallurgists are available to provide full technical back-up and to undertake failure investigations, materials consultancy and if required, expert witness services.

Chemical analysis, ranging from fully equipped OES to ‘wet’ chemistry is also available, covering most alloys, drillings and turnings and a comprehensive range of process solutions. A common requirement in many applications is a level of corrosion resistance, whether it be an urban, marine or even a sour gas environment; CTT is able to offer a range of assessment services.

In the related field of corrosion protection, CTT is able to offer a range of paint testing options, including failure investigation, and a comprehensive range of elastomer and polymer testing.
