Overview

Hartlepool in the North East of England is home to both Caparo Forging and Caparo Testing Technologies (Hartlepool) Laboratory. Located on Brenda Road, Caparo Forging (www.caparoforging.com) specializes in the production of high quality ferrous and non-ferrous forgings and within this site Caparo Testing Technologies (CTT) can be found.

CTT is an independent, long established Company providing a full range of metallurgical testing services to a wide spectrum of industries. The UKAS Accredited Laboratory is equipped to perform such tests as ambient Tensile testing (BS EN and ASTM – 400N to 650kN) as well as elevated temperature Tensile testing up to 800°C, Charpy Impact testing (BS EN and ASTM – ambient and sub-zero down to minus 196°C), Hardness testing – Vickers and Rockwell (BS EN) and Brinell (BS EN and ASTM) as well as Corrosion Testing (ASTM G28, G48 and A262). In addition, Chemical Analysis by Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) can also be carried out. Full workshop and inspection facilities at the Laboratory ensures that we can provide a rapid, responsive yet cost effective service which is tailored to ensure that test specifications are fully complied whilst meeting the strict turn-round times demanded by today’s industries. Those industries include (but not confined to) Forges, Foundries, Heat-Treatment Suppliers, Manufacturers, Automotive , Engineering and Construction and all testing is carried out by experienced staff who maintain a close working relationship with our Clients at all times.

In addition to Metallurgical testing, Caparo Testing Technologies can also carry out Non-Destructive testing and we are an approved supplier to many aircraft manufacturers and operators. Whilst our strategically placed UKAS and/or Nadcap UK Laboratories offer 'Testhouse based' inspections, our highly experienced staff also travel to many parts of the world to carry out such methods as Radiography, Eddy Current, Ultrasonics, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant and Visual inspections.
